Tax Manager

Kelly is seeking a Tax Manager to work with our client, a new start-up venture that has partnered with a successful organization in the business development/personal growth space, on a direct hire basis. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax-free strategies, particularly in the context of investments and entrepreneurial ventures.

The Tax Manager will:

+ Manage and oversee the daily operations of the tax department

+ Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals and businesses

+ Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes

+ Identify and mitigate tax risks for clients, communicating clear tax strategies

+ Coordinate tax accounting staff and assess their performance

+ Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices

+ Manage and coordinate tax audits, providing expertise for the process

+ Prepare all tax papers and handle all information data requests

+ Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations

+ Provide support with various internal audits and special tax-related projects

+ Manage tax team members, ensuring proper training and information is available

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification

+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a tax manager or public accountant role

+ Understanding of tax-free strategies, particularly in the context of investments and entrepreneurial ventures, preferred

+ Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations

+ Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements

+ Experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements

+ Strong leadership and personnel management skills

+ Analytical skills with detail orientation

+ Strong written and oral communication skills
