    Description

    Job Purpose:

    Responsible for safely operating an MCFI food service vehicle (van or box truck) delivering meals and supplies. Will also serve meals to customers in a courteous and efficient manner.

    Reporting Relationships

    **Reports To:** Supervisor or manager on duty

    Essential Job Functions:

    1. Driver-I works collaboratively with other drivers and food service employees. May be responsible for training new drivers as assigned.

    2. Safely operate food service vehicles to deliver designated routes or as supervisor instructions.

    3. Promptly, accurately, and completely comply with all driver record keeping requirements.

    4. Required to deliver food to location, assist with food service responsibilities, including preparing and serving meals according to Food Safety Plan and Standard Operating Procedures

    5. Ensure that all items on the production transport sheet and supply order forms are delivered and accounted for.

    6. Report vehicle concerns to supervisor or manager on duty immediately. Adhere to all workplace and trade safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices.

    7. Driver of vehicles must keep appearance of truck clean, interior, exterior and sanitized daily.

    8. Keep the dock, production, and service areas clean as assigned.

    9. Participate in end-of-day clean up, dishwashing, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, hot boxes, trash removal, floor care and other areas as assigned.

    10. Practice and promote food and physical safety in the workplace.

    11. Work with food service team helping stock, rotate products for storeroom, coolers, freezers, and, maintaining kitchen equipment, inventory control.

    12. Variable working conditions or routes due to adverse weather, traffic, road construction, or change in route.

    13. Communicate any issues related to daily assignments to the supervisor or manager on duty.

    14. Attend departmental and agency-wide safety briefings and training sessions as required

    15. Participate in department quality planning activities, continuous improvement, logic models, performance metrics.

    Qualifications

    **Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials:** (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)

    **Minimum Age Requirement** : 18 years

    **Travel outside of office:** 95% travel in the communities we serve

    **Required Valid Driver’s License** : Valid Wisconsin driver’s license

    **Required Auto Insurance:** Vehicle liability insurance in accordance with Agency policy if driving own vehicle

    Knowledge – Skills – Abilities:

    • Ability to successfully complete all required driver and customer service representative trainings within 90 days of hire to include: defensive driving, operation of GPS system, customer service modules.

    • Able to respond to emergency situations in accordance with training received.

    • Ability to communicate customer concerns to designated Food Service staff.

    • Ability to maintain good grooming and hygiene practices as required by agency, local, State, and federal regulation

    • Present a positive public image of the Food & Nutrition Services Department and MCFI, and maintain confidentiality

    **Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions** :

    **Physical Requirements:** Reaching, Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Standing for sustained periods of time. Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, pushing, pulling and using stairs. Lifting, raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. Fingering, picking, pinching, grasping items, typing, or otherwise working.

     

    Exerting up to 70 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, in a variety of situations, including using stairs or during inclement weather and team-lift 100 pounds.

     

    Talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction

     

    **Visual Acuity:** The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, with or without adaptive equipment

    **Working Conditions** : The worker is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions and, loud noises. Activities could occur outside when loading, unloading, making deliveries in various weather conditions.
