What You'll Be Doing
Reporting to the Head of Loan Syndications Underwriting and Portfolio Management, the Executive Director, Loan Syndications will be responsible for supporting the Middle Market Commercial Lending business ("CRE") through management of the loan syndication origination and amendment process from origination to close, ensuring accuracy of underwriting and efficient execution of multi-bank transactions. Other responsibilities include supporting the team's broader infrastructure initiatives, internal reporting and mentoring junior team members. The ideal professional for this highly-analytical, detail-oriented and process-driven role is a resourceful, independent self-starter with a strong CRE credit background, fastidious attention to detail and solid relationship management skills.

How you'll succeed
+ **Client Engagement -** Arranging and participating in bank meetings with co-lenders (travel required). Distributing and communication transaction information to co-lenders.
+ **Analytical -** Critically reviewing legal documentation. Preparing transaction marketing materials (i.e. bank books, teasers, etc.). Producing reports for internal use, external data sharing, submission to senior management and various auditors.
+ **Relationship building -** Collaborating with Agency Services to execute the syndication closing process. Managing existing agented transactions and leading the amendment process on previously closed syndications. Maintaining market knowledge and industry awareness, and effectively communicating knowledge to others within CIBC.
+ **Risk- Assessment-** Supporting ongoing infrastructure improvement; centralization and standardization initiatives.
+ **Leadership -** Mentoring and training junior team members to ensure cross training and strong long term platform build out.
+ **Agile -** Special projects, as required.
Who you are
+ **You can demonstrate experience in** Capital Markets and Syndications (preferred), ability to meet deadlines and establish priorities to manage a high volume of transactions, and minimum 10+ years of direct CRE finance/credit experience.
+ **You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in** Finance, Accounting or Economics

+ Speaking up if witnessing behaviors that drive poor or unfair outcomes for clients, team members or other stakeholders
+ Escalating matters that can result in adverse market practices and outcomes, thereby negatively impacting CIBC’s reputation as a leading financial institution
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $125,000 - $185,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
