EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Educational Technology Curriculum Facilitator provides key leadership and support to teachers, principals, and district administration as it pertains to instructional technology and the integration of technology to support teaching and learning in all content areas. The Educational Technology Curriculum Facilitator plays a pivotal role in integrating technology into teaching and learning. This position bridges curriculum development with digital innovation, ensuring that educators and students effectively utilize technology to enhance educational outcomes. The Educational Technology Curriculum Facilitator will collaborate with educators to design, revise, and implement curriculum materials that incorporate technology, aligning with Iowa Core standards and district objectives. They will develop instructional strategies that leverage digital tools to enhance student engagement and learning. The Educational Technology Curriculum Facilitator will provide ongoing professional development for educators on effective use of educational technology tools and platforms and offer individualized support and coaching to educators, fostering confidence and proficiency in integrating technology into their teaching practices. The Educational Technology Curriculum Facilitator will assist in selecting and evaluating educational technology resources and tools suitable for classroom integration and will collaborate with the CIA and Technology Departments to ensure the smooth operation of technological infrastructure and address technical issues promptly. The Educational Technology Curriculum Facilitator will analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions and identify areas where technology can address learning gaps. They will support the CIA and Technology Departments in monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of technology integration in achieving educational goals. The Educational Technology Curriculum Facilitator will lead initiatives that promote digital literacy and responsible use of technology among students and staff while collaborating with school administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement technology-enhanced learning experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Adheres to Board policies, district procedures, and contractual obligations.
Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate with teachers, principals, and directors regarding important issues relative to their program responsibility.
Works collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement curricular materials and assessments that support instruction aligned to the Iowa Core.
Provides coaching and support to classroom teachers. May include classroom modeling of educational strategies.
Develops and demonstrates lessons using research-based practices.
Develops and models effective, differentiated instruction.
Understands the need to serve special populations of learners.
Supports and encourages the use of technology embedded in instruction.
Develops, delivers, and assesses professional development for teachers and principals. Identification of best practices is an important aspect of this professional development responsibility. Must keep current on laws and educational regulations relating to the program.
Analyzes student demographic data, student achievement data, technology implementation data, usage reports, and educational technology trends and determines appropriate action relative to such data.
100% of the time will be engaged as a Curriculum Facilitator.
Works collaboratively and collegially with district administrators, building principals, PLCs, teachers, and other staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum qualifications include a valid Iowa teaching certificate, a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in education or the appropriate content area and a minimum of three years teaching experience and one year experience within the District. Must possess proper state certification and licensure for position. Employee is expected to demonstrate continued professional growth specific to the program(s).
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
The Educational Technology Curriculum Facilitator retains the regular teaching contract and is issued a supplemental contract for a one-year assignment to the Educational Technology Curriculum Facilitator role. The supplemental contract will be for additional work on an “as needed” basis beyond the career teacher contract. The scope of the work to be completed for the additional contract days will be determined by the District Leadership Team. The Educational Technology Curriculum Facilitator will receive a $2,000 stipend.
EVALUATION
Job performance will be evaluated annually by the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical to the success of this position. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and groups from all levels of the organization, including staff, principals, and central administration. Communication will include individual to large group presentations as well as written communications and reports. Individual must have effective listening skills.
INFLUENCING SKILLS
Must possess influencing/persuasion skills when working with staff and principals on curriculum issues and instructional strategies to embrace and implement change intended to positively impact student achievement.
FACILITATION SKILLS
Must be an effective facilitator in a variety of situations. Must have the ability to facilitate group meetings and facilitate large and small group professional development. Group facilitation includes discussion as well as group problem-solving processes.
PLANNING SKILLS
Must have the ability to plan both long-term and short-term. Planning should include data analysis, research of best practices, action steps, and general logistical support.
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS
Position requires strong organizational skills. Must have the ability to organize and assimilate information, data, resources, scheduling, and other needs within the program(s).
ANALYTICAL and REASONING SKILLS
Individual must have the ability to interpret data, which may be very complex and varied. Must be able to link assessment data analysis to school improvement, curriculum, and professional development.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Individual must be competent in research and information gathering through technology. Must also have the capability to collect and sort data through technology. The ability to present and communicate through technology is required, including spreadsheets, powerpoint and web-based information.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Normal office physical demands. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds infrequently. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Generally, employee works inside.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Will perform other duties as may be assigned by the superintendent or designee, necessary and appropriate to the achievement of the program and/or District goals and objectives.
