    This job is within the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is rResponsible for overseeing the mortgage loan process for Credit Union members wanting to purchase or refinance residential real estate and providing leadership within various origination responsibilities, including compliance with laws and regulations relative to Credit Union Mortgage Lending, assessing risk, policies and procedures implementation, and pipeline management.

    What you'll do

    + ​Establish and monitor monthly/quarterly/annual production goals

    + Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures

    + Manage and maintain loan officer workflow and loan volume

    + Benchmark industry products and best practices

    + Manage personnel-related issues including coaching, developing and training

    + Ensure areas of responsibility are efficient, and that loan files are supported by adequate documentation to ensure adherence to secondary market guidelines

    + Manage annual budget process and monthly budget maintenance

    + Handle escalated member issues

    + Manage vendor relationships

    + Represent Credit Union at member education and industry events

    + Analyze results and trends and reports to senior management as needed

    + Maintain a current knowledge of changing legislation and regulatory climates

    + Perform other duties as assigned

    + The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

     

    All you'll need for success

    Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    + ​High school diploma or GED

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related area of study, or equivalent work experience relevant to the nature of the job duties

    Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    + ​Experience in mortgage-related areas such as lending compliance, mortgage production/processing tasks, and secondary market guidelines

    + Previous supervisory experience, particularly leading a mortgage production team

    Skills, Licenses & Certifications

    + ​Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software

    + Current, extensive knowledge in mortgage lending and experience with mortgage loan origination systems

    + Ability to effectively communicate and work closely with other teams and manage several third-party relationships

    + Ability to lead people and engage the team, to include coaching, counseling and motivating staff

    + Ability to work independently while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving

    + Ability to occasionally work varying schedules, including evenings and weekends

    + Ability to occasionally travel, including some overnight travel

    + Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance

    + Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
