Implement and support company pricing, market strategy, yield, distribution & selling strategies, and revenue management best practices. Manage hotel’s revenue generation & maximization through full utilization of company systems, business processes and specifications, across all departments.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but mostly you’ll be:
+ Conducting weekly Revenue Management Meetings where the current 120-day booking period is evaluated for proper rate and availability control. Give a synopsis of results vs. decision from the previous week and leads discussion on future issues.
+ Preparing all reports and analyses necessary to conduct the above-stated meeting.
+ Receiving all definite and tentative group bookings and providing the General Manager with qualified analysis of how each booking will impact occupancy, average rate, and rooms profit over the dates in question. Reviewing and approving all group proposals with Sales and/or General Manager. Collaborating with Sales Department on group rates. Receiving all revisions to definite and tentative group bookings to prepare revised analysis as needed.
+ Exploring and providing variations in the market mix which would stimulate additional revenue without increasing costs.
+ Overseeing and evaluating the effectiveness of any internal incentive programs for Front Office, F&B, Reservations, Sales and Convention Services. Then providing the General Manager with clear payback analysis. Assisting the General Manager and other leaders in making necessary adjustments to any program.
+ Responsible for the oversight of reservations department with direct reports from Reservations
+ Responsible for the maintenance of any software programs which contribute to the management of room’s revenue, including PERFORM, RBI and Delphi/Profit Pack or any other Group Sales System.
+ Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Front Office, Director of F&B and Culinary Operations, and other leaders to ensure their departmental objectives and responsibilities to the management group are met without having a negative impact on total rooms revenue management. This is with special attention to Corporate Marketing Programs, Special Promotions, and One Rewards customers, Local Volume Accounts, Corporate Negotiated Accounts and Towers Operations.
+ Preparing monthly and quarterly presentations or reports for the Vice President of Operations, Head of Revenue Strategy, Senior Property Leadership Team, and others, on progress toward the goals of the five-year forecast. Including a detailed analysis on impact of group bookings, adjustments to the current year forecast, and analysis of variances.
+ Establishing hotel’s pricing levels in all segments.
+ Responsible for the daily room inventory management process. Actively monitoring group blocks to determine rooms availability for sale.
+ Working closely with Regional Revenue Management leadership, hotel sales, and hotel management to establish and implement pricing, yield, and selling strategies for the hotel, based on market factors and company guidelines.
+ Monitoring competitor strategies and data; maintain understanding of the dynamics of the local market and demand generators and present appropriate action plans to management. Monitoring and communicating fluctuations in occupancy to operational departments so they can effectively manage staffing requirements and increase efficiency.
+ Compiling rolling 12-month forecast on a monthly basis
+ Preparing analysis of STR results, performance to budget and forecast, and market conditions on a monthly or more frequent basis
+ Assisting with the annual hotel budget development and ongoing results analysis.
+ Promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication/briefings and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include all hotel departments.
+ Interact with outside contacts:
+ Guests – to ensure their total satisfaction
+ Corporate Revenue – to develop and implement support teams’ strategies
+ Other contacts as needed (Professional organizations, community groups)
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
What we need from you
+ _Experience –_
+ Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or similar. MBA degree is preferred.
+ A minimum of five (5) years in the top hotel revenue management spot.
+ Large property experience (500+ rooms) in a luxury setting. _Literacy skills –_ Above-average communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company. Reading and writing abilities in English are utilized consistently when completing paperwork and management reports, interpreting results, giving and receiving instructions, and training.
+ _Financial acumen –_
+ You'll need extensive math skills to complete your day-to-day, as well as to review and speak to your financial result, including basic math & algebra, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of effective hotel pricing concepts, yield management optimization and selling strategies, and ability to determine which concepts to apply in given market conditions.
+ You also need an understanding of microeconomics as it applies to hotel business.
+ _Flexible attitude to shifts_ – you may need to work nights, weekends and/or holidays to get the job done.
+ _Stamina -_ It can be a physical role and you’ll be on your feet some of the day, walking throughout the hotel and attending meetings, so fitness is important.
+ _Strength_ - This job requires ability to perform the following:
+ Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds
+ Moving about the outlet(s)
+ Handling objects, products
+ Bending, stooping, kneeling

The annual base pay range for this role is $175,000 to $200,000. This job is also eligible for quarterly bonus pay.
