    Description

    Shift: Full time 6:30a - 7p

     

    Emory Healthcare is seeking** **experienced cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) Surgical Technologists** **with one+ years of cardiac and open-heart surgery experience.** Our Technologists are integral members of inter-professional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care, driven by their expertise, compassion and operate at a higher level of practice **.

     

    + Implements and evaluates care of patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures.

    + Keeps the Perioperative team abreast of the procedure needs and progress.

    + Identifies more complex patient needs by reviewing procedure protocol, physician's request, and assessing the patient's physical needs.

    + Prioritizes procedure process and supplies for specialty group of patients.

    + Plans for surgical procedure based on identified needs of surgeon and patient, implementing intervention for identified patient problems as related to surgical procedure and patient needs.

    + Utilizes appropriate standards of care, and/or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the plan of care.

    + Determine the equipment, materials, and resources needed to meet the patient procedure plan.

    + Participates in identifying cost containment activities. Monitors and maintains supplies and initiates purchases to ensure par levels.

    + Successfully completes hospital and department-based orientation programs, attending educational programs to develop optimal knowledge in area of specialty.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    + Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training. Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.

    + Two years multispecialty experience. Must be able to function as a clinical expert in at least one service line and have the ability to float to other service lines, as needed.

    + Specialty areas include: Complex GYN, Complex Ortho/Spine, ENT, General Surgery, Ophthalmology (Corneal; Retina Cell transplants), Robotics, Thoracic and Vascular.

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
