Accounting Manager with Payroll

SUMMARY:
Kayem’s Accounting Manager leads key financial operations including period-end closings, reporting, budgeting, audits, payroll, and accounts payable. This role supports financial planning, prepares financial statements, ensures regulatory compliance, and supervises finance team members. A strong emphasis is placed on process improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and leveraging technology for accuracy and efficiency. Reports directly to the Controller.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting, Close, Reporting & Analysis
+ Support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly close.
+ Prepare/review journal entries, reconciliations, and analytics.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to provide insights and financial reports.
+ Generate weekly labor and ad hoc reports.
Audit & Compliance
+ Support audits and maintain compliance with internal controls and regulations.
+ Administer 401(k) plan and document accounting procedures.
Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
+ Oversee A/P operations, vendor setup, invoice processing, and reconciliations.
+ Manage W-9/1099 compliance and resolve A/P issues.
Payroll Administration
+ Administer payroll processing and reporting.
+ Ensure compliance with payroll tax filings and year-end reporting.
+ Maintain accurate payroll records in UKG.
Technology & Process Improvement
+ Lead finance tech initiatives and enhance reporting systems.
+ Ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Team Supervision & Collaboration
+ Supervise accounting, A/P, and payroll staff.
+ Collaborate with HR and internal departments on key processes.
+ Provide guidance and respond to inquiries.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred).
+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory background.
+ Manufacturing and ERP experience preferred.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
+ Strong GAAP knowledge, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
+ Proficient in ERP, BI tools (e.g., PowerBI), Excel, and MS 365.
+ Able to meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and drive results.
