    Responsibilities

    Direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for the activities function.

     

    + Develop departmental goals, plans and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.

    + Plan, organize and direct all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.

    + Prepare departmental budgets and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinate and directs internal/external audits.

    + Direct and evaluate all services provided, including care plan development, service level determination, and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives.

    + Assure resident safety by identifying safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective action as appropriate.

    Requirements

    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    + Required Credential(s):• One or more of the following:• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted.• Heart Saver AED obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted.

    Education:

    + High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.

    Additional Preferences

    + **Activity Directors Course completion highly preferred.** The State of Illinois's required 36-Hour Activity Director Course meets the State of Illinois IDPH standards for an Illinois Activity Director, and also meets the requirements for the Skilled Special Care Unit for Activities.No additional preferences.
