The Elections Division ensures Idaho's elections are fair, accurate, accessible, and secure. By maintaining and modernizing the security and integrity of Idaho's election system, our intent is to ensure every voice is heard, and every vote counted. The division provides valuable services to voters, candidates, and election officials for all of Idaho's 44 counties.
Description
This position, located within the Elections Division, is critical for the proper administration of Idaho Elections. As an Elections Specialist, you will be a utility player in the administration and execution of electoral processes, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and fairness of elections within the state. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including election coordination, assisting counties, and the elections team in compliance with state and federal regulations. This position reports directly to the Elections Division Director.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with voting questions from the public.
+ Assist local elections officials regarding proper election procedures and voter registration system operation.
+ Assist with managing support tickets related to the voter registration database, ensuring timely responses and resolution of issues.
+ Assist with the fulfillment of public records requests and sunshine law violations in accordance with applicable laws and procedures.
+ Review early voting security plans and election modification requests to ensure compliance and issue approvals as appropriate.
+ Assist with the development and maintenance of current training materials for counties and candidates.
+ Assist with the maintenance of the elections county relationship management system.
+ Assist with the maintenance of the county portal.
Desired Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in political science, public administration, business, or related field
+ Some knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations/laws related to elections.
+ Experience reviewing documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
+ Experience working in complex databases.
