    Basic Life Support Instructor

     

    Status: Part-time

     

    Hours: Varied

     

    Pay / Salary: $21.26 / Hour

    Summary

    As a Basic Life Support Instructor, you will play a vital role in equipping students with life-saving CPR and First Aid skills through the American Heart Association (AHA). Your instruction will empower healthcare professionals with Life Support CPR training and provide essential Heartsaver CPR/AED education to those outside the healthcare field. First Aid training will be delivered uniformly to all students.

     

    You will create a dynamic and engaging learning environment by setting clear objectives, adapting teaching methods to different learning styles, and ensuring students gain theoretical knowledge and hands-on proficiency. Your expertise will directly impact students' ability to respond effectively in emergencies, making a meaningful difference in their communities. This position requires travel to MTECH campuses in Lehi, Orem, Spanish Fork, and Provo to provide high-quality training across multiple locations.

    What You'll Do:

    Responsibilities of the Basic Life Support Instructor include, but are not limited to:

    + Lead and manage students in classroom and lab settings, ensuring an interactive and professional learning experience.

    + Prepare and maintain a clean, organized, student-friendly classroom before and after each session.

    + Assess student competency through verbal instruction, hands-on demonstrations, and written performance exams.

    + Provide support and remediation to students requiring additional instruction to pass certification exams.

    + Stay current with the AHA curriculum and standards, maintaining active professional certifications.

    + Complete and submit the required documentation for student certification by AHA and MTECH policies.

    + Ensure the upkeep of training equipment by keeping it clean and in good working order, and report any inventory needs to the Program Coordinator.

    + Actively participate in department meetings and professional development opportunities.

    + Uphold MTECH's mission by fostering a culture of excellence in education and emergency preparedness.

    What We're Looking For:

    + Education Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent.

    + Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant work experience is preferred.

    + Certifications: Must possess an AHA Certification in the class they are teaching and an AHA Instructor Certification.

    + Organizational Abilities: Strong skills in time management, multitasking, and organization to efficiently handle multiple responsibilities.

    + Attention to Detail: Sharp problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in daily tasks.
