    Description

    Robert Half is hiring a Payroll Specialist for a healthcare client seeking an experienced professional who can manage payroll processes for a large, diverse workforce. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate high-level accuracy in handling employee compensation and compliance requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Process semi-monthly and biweekly payroll for 300+ employees using the company’s payroll system, ensuring accurate calculations and adherence to deadlines.

    + Review and verify timekeeping records for employees, resolving discrepancies in coordination with department supervisors.

    + Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and garnishments.

    + Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including employee earning statements, tax filings, and year-end W-2 forms.

    + Conduct audits of payroll data to identify and correct errors, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies.

    + Maintain employee payroll records, including new hire details, promotions, terminations, and changes in pay structure.

    + Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, handling questions about deductions, overtime, and leave balances.

    + Assist with payroll implementation projects, such as transitioning systems or upgrading software.

    Requirements

    + 2-3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in high-headcount organizations or the healthcare industry.

    + Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paylocity) with advanced knowledge of payroll laws and compliance standards.

    + Thorough understanding of federal and state tax regulations, including FLSA guidelines.

    + Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and prioritize payroll deadlines effectively.

    + Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for handling payroll inquiries and resolving issues.

    + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, HR, or Accounting preferred, along with payroll-specific certifications (e.g., CPP, FPC).
