Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead and manage the accounting operations of our organization in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of US GAAP, and a proven track record in financial reporting for mid-sized companies. The Controller will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting senior executives with actionable financial insights.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise and mentor an accounting team of four, including an Assistant Controller, Accounts Payable, and two staff accountants.
• Oversee month-end close processes, including P& L and Balance Sheet consolidations, and ensure timely completion within a 4/4/5 close calendar.
• Collaborate with the FP& A Manager to deliver detailed flux analysis and executive management reports for senior leadership and private equity stakeholders.
• Manage intercompany eliminations and perform thorough reviews to ensure financial accuracy.
• Lead the preparation and review of annual budgets and operational forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards, including percentage-of-completion and lease accounting under ASC 842.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, ensuring all audit requests are fulfilled efficiently and accurately.
• Develop and implement effective internal controls to enhance financial reporting processes.
• Oversee treasury and liquidity management, including the creation of 13-week cash flow forecasts for executive review.
• Provide project accounting and cost analysis for industrial services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Requirements • Proven experience in a Controller role, preferably within a privately held mid-sized organization.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including percentage-of-completion and lease accounting standards.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and support month-end close activities, including P& L and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Advanced skills in Viewpoint Vista and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience managing external audits and ensuring timely compliance with audit requirements.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time and work a hybrid schedule with three days onsite.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, IT, and Operations.
