• Director of Accounting

    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (Columbus, OH)


    Description We are looking for a highly skilled Director of Accounting to oversee and manage the accounting operations for our organization based in Columbus, Ohio. This role requires a strategic leader who can ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across financial processes while fostering a culture of excellence within the accounting team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and direct all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.

    • Guarantee the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

    • Prepare and oversee the creation of financial statements that align with organizational standards.

    • Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with applicable policies.

    • Collaborate with external auditors to manage and execute annual audit procedures.

    • Assist in developing, analyzing, and monitoring budgets and financial forecasts.

    • Provide executive leadership with actionable insights and recommendations based on thorough financial analysis.

    • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

    • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, encouraging growth, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    • Administer and optimize the company’s budgeting system and accounting software, including NetSuite. Requirements • Proven expertise in managing accounting operations, including AR, AP, payroll, and financial reporting.

    • Strong familiarity with accounting software systems such as NetSuite, BlackLine, and Concur.

    • Experience with auditing processes and regulatory compliance.

    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain budgets and forecasts.

    • Proficiency in CRM systems and financial analysis tools.

    • Knowledge of federal, state, and local financial regulations.

    • Exceptional leadership and team development skills.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
