About the Position:
The Office of Information Services is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Computer Programmer to join our team in modernizing applications for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. In this critical role, you will design, build, test, and maintain applications that support essential department functions, ensuring systems operate efficiently and evolve to meet growing technological needs. Your work will involve updating existing software to align with current business requirements, leveraging modern technologies to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Whether developing new software, enhancing existing systems, or collaborating on enterprise-wide solutions, your contributions will directly impact the agency’s success and the services we provide to citizens.
This full-time position offers the potential for a flexible schedule within standard operating hours and partial remote work arrangements.

In this role, you will:
+ Develop and maintain application programs of moderate complexity using high-level programming languages such as Java and React, and tools like Postman and Visual Studio.
+ Design program logic using structured programming techniques to meet user requirements.
+ Document system processes, program specifications, and user instructions to support system use and future enhancements.
+ Troubleshoot and maintain existing systems to ensure ongoing functionality and performance.
+ Participate in peer reviews, design walkthroughs, and collaborative coding sessions.
+ Engage in training and professional development to stay current with evolving technologies and industry best practices.
Preferences will be given to candidates who have:
+ Experience as a Full Stack Developer with both front-end and back-end development skills.
+ Oracle Forms experience.
+ Familiarity with enterprise-level application development tools and environments.
+ A track record of working on complex IT projects in collaborative, team-focused settings.
Minimum Qualifications: (Entry level knowledges, skills, and/or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following coursework/training and/or experience)
+ An Associates Degree in Computer Information Science or equivalent industry certification
+ -OR- 12 total credit hours in computer programming
+ -OR- 1 year experience in Application System Development.
