    * This is the earning potential over the course of nine steps. Annual step increases are dependent on obtaining successful performance reviews and the authorization to issue such increases.

     

    The Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Resource Administration, is seeking to fill an Office Specialist II vacancy in Augusta.

     

    BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:This is professional services work providing administrative and financial support to the Department. The position is housed within the Division of Resource Administration providing leadership and support to managers and staff throughout the agency regarding the processing of contracts, purchasing requests, and invoice payment. The position provides support to the agency’s financial management staff by providing centralized oversight and coordination, including the Department’s relationship with DAFS Office of Information Technology. The position works closely with the Agency’s Resource Administrators, managing functions common throughout the Department.

    Responsibilities include:

    + Independently processing multiple types of service documents through AdvantageME

    + Advise staff on proper procedures and rules for contracts and procurement documents

    + Maine IT Billing liaison; Manage Department's OIT bill

    + Procurement Card (p-card) user and approver

    + Cell Phone Coordination

    + Review and provide final approval on cash receipts in AdvantageME for the Department's daily deposit(s)

     

    There will be hybrid remote/in-person work opportunities with this position after management approval and following the DEP Telework Policy,

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Training, education, or experience in administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a proficient knowledge of modern office practices to perform advanced administrative support tasks at the statewide level that are broad in scope or functionally diverse, and 2) the ability to use independent judgment, initiative, and decision making on complex administrative matters. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Office Assistant I , Office Assistant II , Office Associate I , Office Associate II and Office Specialist I .
