Description

We are looking for a Financial Reporting Team Leader to join our team in Boston, MA. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to lead financial reporting efforts for registered investment companies, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in mutual fund accounting and financial reporting, coupled with strong organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Draft annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements and related regulatory forms for registered investment companies.

• Prepare and review fund expense proformas, ensuring accuracy and adherence to client requirements.

• Coordinate fund expense accruals, adjustments, and invoice authorizations with clients and the financial reporting team.

• Collaborate with the Fund Administration Manager on board book preparation and procedural manual updates.

• Monitor and report fund performance data to management and relevant industry publications.

• Stay informed of regulatory changes affecting funds and implement necessary adjustments to financial reporting processes.

• Review work completed by less experienced staff members to ensure compliance with internal policies and standards.

• Evaluate and suggest improvements to financial reporting systems to enhance automation and compliance.

• Perform special projects as assigned by supervisors, contributing to team efficiency and process optimization.

• Maintain effective communication with team leaders and department members to ensure timely workflow management.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience demonstrating attention to detail.

• 5 to 7 years of mutual fund accounting experience, including 3 to 5 years in financial reporting.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and relevant regulatory frameworks.

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend practical solutions.

• Proficiency in fund accounting systems and financial reporting tools.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
