Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant II to join our team in Douglaston, New York. In this role, you will oversee financial reporting for multiple construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with various owner and agency requirements. This position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills to monitor budgets, manage costs, and provide actionable insights to project teams.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver financial reports for multiple projects at different stages, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.

• Process project and subcontractor closeouts accurately and within designated timelines.

• Track and analyze project budgets versus actual costs, identifying variances and providing constructive feedback to project teams.

• Review monthly general conditions reports and assist in quarterly analysis of budget versus actual performance.

• Reconcile and classify project costs and billing deferrals based on project type and preconstruction agreements.

• Identify and implement improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.

• Develop, review, and oversee project cash flow and revenue projections, resolving discrepancies as needed.

• Analyze and forecast revenue and expenses over the lifecycle of general contract projects. Requirements • At least 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a construction project environment.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with accounting for construction projects, including commercial and residential sectors.

• Strong ability to analyze project budgets and financial performance metrics.

• Experience in managing financial reporting for projects of varying sizes and complexities.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate with project teams.
