Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Mission Viejo, California. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to bring your expertise in accounts payable and general accounting to a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will excel in processing financial transactions, maintaining records, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Process and maintain accounting and financial transactions in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
• Review and verify source documents for accuracy and compliance, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
• Prepare and manage payment documentation, including data entry into the accounts payable system, manual check preparation, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
• Handle petty cash reimbursements, void and reissue checks as needed and manage the mailing of payments and filing of paid invoices.
• Test and troubleshoot financial software, update procedural documentation, and resolve invoice discrepancies in collaboration with other departments.
• Record and verify financial transactions, maintaining databases and generating periodic reports using spreadsheet and word processing tools.
• Reconcile financial data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure purchase orders are properly liquidated.
• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and departments by addressing account-related questions and sharing procedural insights.
Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable and general accounting.
• Proficiency in using accounts payable systems, including Tyler Munis, for invoice processing and financial transactions.
• Strong typing skills, with a speed of 60-90 words per minute.
• Experience in managing vendor relationships and resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook for data entry, reporting, and communication.
• Ability to handle check runs, petty cash reimbursements, and coding invoices with accuracy.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate financial records.
