Description We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee and execute key accounting functions in a hands-on capacity. This role involves supervising accounts receivable and payable staff, managing cash transactions, and ensuring compliance with financial processes. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, this position plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization's overall accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Review the general ledger coding of cash transactions, including wires, ACHs, and accounts payable invoices.

• Supervise and assist accounts receivable and accounts payable staff to ensure timely billing, collections, and disbursements.

• Manage banking activities such as positive pay exceptions, stop payment requests, and check cancellations.

• Provide backup support to the accounts receivable specialist, including posting receipts and reconciling customer accounts as needed.

• Ensure prompt processing of claim payments, vendor invoices, and policy refunds.

• Contribute to month-end close activities by preparing reconciliations and journal entries.

• Assist with year-end tasks, including the preparation and submission of 1099 forms.

• Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions.

• Participate in special accounting projects and initiatives as required. Requirements • Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations with attention to detail.

• Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger processes.

• Experience with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

• Demonstrated expertise in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.

• Ability to handle cash transactions, including wires, ACHs, and positive pay exceptions.

• Familiarity with preparing 1099 forms and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

• Excellent organizational skills to maintain audit trails and documentation.

• Capability to supervise and collaborate effectively with accounting staff.
