Description We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Savannah, Georgia. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cost accounting principles, financial analysis, and accounting software systems to support our manufacturing operations. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail who can effectively manage cost allocation, budgeting, and auditing processes while ensuring compliance with financial standards.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze and allocate costs across various projects, processes, and product developments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Utilize accounting software systems, including Epicor and Crystal Reports, to manage and evaluate financial data.
• Monitor and audit financial activities, including accounts payable, to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Prepare detailed cost analyses and reports to support budgeting and decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate construction costs and develop cost-effective strategies.
• Manage cash activity and oversee financial transactions to maintain proper documentation and reconciliation.
• Perform routine audits and ensure adherence to accounting principles and standards.
• Support ERP systems and provide insights for improving cost accounting practices.
• Assist in developing financial forecasts and budgets based on historical data and industry trends.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to meet organizational and regulatory requirements. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or a related financial role.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Epicor and Crystal Reports.
• Strong understanding of cost allocation, cost analysis, and budgeting processes.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and their application in accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience in accounts payable, auditing, and managing cash activity.
• Knowledge of manufacturing industry practices and cost accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
