Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Whitestone, New York. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations. Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for employees accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain and update employee records in payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian Dayforce.
• Handle benefit administration tasks, including 401(k) and RRSP contributions, ensuring accurate deductions and reporting.
• Conduct audits of payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports as needed.
• Assist in the implementation and optimization of payroll software systems to improve efficiency.
• Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and tax withholdings.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to payroll and benefits.
• Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Support special projects and provide recommendations for process improvements. Requirements • Proven experience in payroll processing, with a strong understanding of payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian Dayforce.
• Familiarity with accounting software systems and their integration with payroll functions.
• Knowledge of benefit administration, including 401(k) and RRSP plans.
• Strong auditing skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll data.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in handling payroll-related inquiries and providing clear communication to employees.
• Up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and support process improvement initiatives.
