Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Salinas, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a vital role in managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in invoice and payment handling, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment within the agricultural industry.

Responsibilities:

• Process and verify high volumes of invoices with precision, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Prepare and execute payment batches, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments, while adhering to approval protocols.

• Manage vendor accounts by maintaining accurate records, resolving discrepancies, and addressing inquiries promptly.

• Reconcile the accounts payable subledger with the general ledger, identifying and resolving variances.

• Monitor and categorize expenses accurately, ensuring alignment with budgets and proper cost center coding.

• Utilize accounting software systems, such as ERP platforms and Excel, to perform accounts payable functions and generate reports.

• Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to improve workflows and maintain operational efficiency. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist, preferably within the agriculture or related industry.

• Proficiency in ERP systems, such as Oracle or similar platforms, and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis.

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable workflows and general accounting principles.

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact across departments and with vendors.

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Familiarity with accrual accounting and auditing processes.

• Experience with automated clearing house (ACH) payments is preferred.
