Responsibilities You will supervise or oversee all aspects of the planning, managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training, education, and outreach for integrated programs within the command. You will advise leaders on prevention action plans and initiatives. You will develop and implement prevention assessments and evaluations to ensure leaders within the organization have prevention knowledge, skills, and abilities to address gaps and promote the well-being of others within the organization. You will manage organizational health and prevention programs to promote healthy climates and address problematic and destructive behaviors including suicide, sexual harassment/assault, substance misuse, and violence (family, workplace). You will ensure the delivery of prevention programs and approaches designed to foster individual, group, and organizational health and performance to reduce and prevent problematic and destructive behaviors. You will serve as an advisor and technical prevention expert within the command and subordinate commands as needed and be responsible for oversight of all aspects of the Integrated Prevention Programs. You will give employees’ advice, counsel, or instructions on work and administrative matters. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience setting performance standards and evaluating performance for the command and subordinate command prevention civilian employees. Experience listening to and resolving employee complaints, referring to group grievances, or more serious unresolved complaints to higher level management and affecting minor disciplinary measures and recommending other actions in more serious cases. Experience organizing, setting, and monitoring the workflow of the Integrated Prevention Program by managing leave and attendance, encourage self-development, tracking personnel actions, and identifying employee developmental needs and providing or arranging for training to maintain and improve job performance. Experience identifying existing or potential risk factors that can lead to problematic or destructive behaviors and recommending preventative measures and promoting a healthy climate. Experience fostering collaboration and advocating for the implementation of integrated and crosscutting prevention programs. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Basic Requirements Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. -OR- Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. -OR- Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. ***A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education. See Required Documents for additional information.*** Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. As a position of trust and an IT II position, employment is conditional on the successful completion of an Access National Agency Check Investigation (ANACI) and contain no convictions of sexual assault and domestic violence. This position is a subject to Initial credential requirement of DoD-approved Training (DoD SPARX Knowledge Training Parts 1 and 2). The incumbent is subject to annual renewal requirement for IPPW Level 3, Prevention Program Manager, of 30 hours continuing education annually. In accordance with the Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI0 6400.11, DOD Integrated Primary Prevention Policy for Prevention Workforce and Leaders, issued 20DEC2022, this position is determined to meet the parameters if Integrated Primary Prevention Work. The designator for Prevention and Response Workforce is IPPW. As a first line supervisor, plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluate work performance of subordinates; give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation) may be authorized to eligible selectees. You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
