    Overview

    The Engineer- Plumber will be responsible for responding to any calls for room repairs and issues throughout the entire facility while providing excellent service to all internal and external guests. A knowledge and understanding of electrical circuits, plumbing, general construction and/or building repairs is required. This position may expose you to extreme weather and temperature conditions associated with working outdoors. A thorough understanding of plumbing repairs and maintenance, a general understanding of utility and building repairs is required. Must be proficient in the use of drain snakes, jetters, power tools and basic hand tools. The Engineer- Plumber must be able to perform tasks varying in complexity to ensure the safe and proper operation of all equipment and the property. Must be able lift 50 pounds unassisted and able to stand for up to 8 hours a day.

    Responsibilities

    + Maintain all building systems and equipment, including repairs, electrical pumps and motors, plumbing systems, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment, and appliances to ensure safe and effective operation

    + Inform management staff of problems requiring maintenance and report any equipment deficiencies

    + Communicate with other shifts to ensure any follow-up on ongoing projects in order to minimize downtime

    + Respond to accident scenes, emergency calls (fire, smoke, etc.) to observe and assist.

    + Act as a maintenance representative for the Property Operations department

    + All Property Operations employees may be required to assist in other job duties within the department at any time regardless of job classification

    + Maintain daily record of work requests, preventative maintenance work requests and planned maintenance.

    + Assist in installing and maintaining plumbing systems

    + Read blueprints and drawings to determine exact specifications and where the plumbing system will be installed

    + Determine water supply networks and waste drainage systems

    + Ensure systems meet all standards of building codes and safety

    + Cut openings in structures in preparation for pipes

    + Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment

    + Assemble and install valves and fittings

    + Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment

    + Install other plumbing equipment, such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, air conditioners, appliances, and trim

    + Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to the required angle Observe pressure gauges to fix leaks

    + Test pipe systems and fix leaks

    + Repair and maintain water treatment equipment

    + Perform scheduled maintenance

    + Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and grade

    + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk, and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

    Qualifications

    + Must have at least 2 years of experience, licensed preferred but not required

    + Must have strong technical skills and knowledge in the assembly, installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of plumbing lines and fixtures throughout the Atlantis Property.

    + Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

    + Ability to communicate clearly over the radio and in person required

    ***Must adhere to all grooming standards, no "visible" tattoos/piercings or unnatural hair and nail colors***
