    Position Summary

    The Senior Director, US Commercial Asset Planning is responsible for defining and driving Otsuka’s US CNS portfolio strategy, ensuring a seamless transition across early-stage, in-line, and late-lifecycle brands. This role partners closely with Global Marketing and R&D to lead US commercialization planning for pipeline assets, lifecycle management for established brands like Nuedexta, and business development assessments. The individual will work cross-functionally with global teams, market access, medical affairs, and R&D to shape development strategies, optimize portfolio investments, and ensure commercial success.

     

    This position oversees both early asset planning and established brand marketing, ensuring that assets in all stages of their lifecycle receive strategic leadership, commercialization support, and alignment with Otsuka’s long-term business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    + **Portfolio Strategy & Lifecycle Planning:** Develop and implement an integrated US CNS portfolio strategy, ensuring cross-functional alignment, investment optimization, and long-term growth.

    + **Early Asset Planning & Commercialization:** Partner with Global Marketing and R&D to guide the early commercialization efforts for pipeline assets, ensuring US market needs are reflected inbrand strategy, evidence generation, and market entry planning. Serves as a US representative on relevant GBT (Global Brand Teams) and/or other necessary governance teams, such as Early Development Teams (EDTs).

    + **Established Brands & LOE Strategy:** Oversee Established Brands Marketing to drive commercial execution, ensure smooth strategy transitions, and optimize performance for mature brands like Nuedexta. Responsible for overall asset profitability.

    + **Market Insights & Competitive Intelligence:** Lead US market assessments, competitive analysis, financial projections, and forecasting to inform portfolio decision-making, and asset prioritization.

    + **Business Development & Opportunity Assessment:** Conduct commercial due diligence, support valuation modeling, and engage in scenario planning for business development opportunities and licensing deals. This is done in partnership with Global Marketing, Finance, R&D and the BD leads.

    + **Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment** : Collaborate with brand leaders, finance, market access, medical affairs, and global commercial teams to ensure alignment on asset priorities, investment decisions, and risk mitigation strategies.

    + **Performance Measurement & Optimization:** Establish KPIs to track the success of commercialization efforts, optimize late-lifecycle strategies, and measure the financial impact of portfolio investments.

    Qualifications & Key Competencies

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; MBA and/or PhD highly preferred

    + 10+ years of experience in portfolio strategy, asset planning, marketing, commercialization, business development, and/or lifecycle management in the healthcare, pharmaceutical or biotech industry

    + Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in CNS and/or Neurology is required

    + Proven experience leading early-stage asset commercialization and late-lifecycle brand strategies, including partnership with R&D organizations

    + Demonstrated knowledge/aptitude in pharmaceutical product development, clinical trial design and research, scientific evidence generation.

    + Strong financial acumen, forecasting, and competitive intelligence expertise

    + Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and strategic alignment across multiple teams

    + Experience in business development assessments, including commercial due diligence and financial modeling

    + Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership

     

    Ability to balance short-term execution with long-term strategic planning, ensuring optimal portfolio investments and commercial success
