Summary You will serve as a FABRIC WORKER SUPERVISOR I in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, CODE 900 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Responsibilities You will plan use of subordinate worker's equipment, facilities, or materials on a day-to-day, week-to-week; month-to-month, or project-to-project basis. You will establish deadlines, priorities, work sequences, and plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. You will participate with higher level supervisors in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates and recommendations as to scheduling projected work. You will assign work to individuals and provide technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes. You will observe work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems, reassign personnel within group supervised, and coordinate work among workers and other supervisors to maintain work progress to meet schedules. You will investigate work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determine causes. You will inspect completed work quality and work order requirements, and report possible or actual work delays to their supervisors. You will recommend solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. You will determine training needs of subordinates and arrange for its accomplishments, set performance standards, and make formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. You will advise and counsel workers on how to improve their performance and explain new work techniques. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Temporary promotions may be extended up to 5 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.
