    NOTE: TA employees must be permanent in the Staff Analyst, Associate Staff Analyst, Transit Management Analyst and Associate Transit Management Analyst title in order to be considered.

    Responsibilities:

    The incumbent will be responsible for providing a wide range of professional, analytical, and administrative functions to support the operation of Facilities. The incumbent will administer the asset maintenance systems (MP2 and Infor). The incumbent will work with multiple managers in the department to prepare and maintain various analytical data, preparing charts, graphs and analytical reports utilizing various software applications such as MS Excel, Access, and Tableau and by extracting data from Various NYCT/MTA Bus databases (i.e. Spear, UTS, etc.)

    Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Collaborate with facility managers and line supervisors to properly maintain the assets of the depots in our maintenance systems.

    • Ensure that preventive maintenance tasks are properly maintained in the databases.

    • Perform data analysis on a wide range of datasets for all divisions in the Facilities Department.

    • Developing, updating, and maintaining various databases, analytical documents, and reports.

    • Assist with the preparation of budget reports and tracking of vendor invoices.

    • Write and edit memorandums, maintenance directives, and/or bulletins for distribution to the depots and posting on the Bus Information Center intranet site.

    • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for ACFO’s, Directors, and other managers.

    • Gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative information.

    • Coordinate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure incentives are on track.

    • Audit and analyze energy consumption data. Ensure the accuracy of utility invoices and resolve discrepancies.

    • Monitor, track and evaluate contracts used by the department.

    Education and Experience:

    Associate Staff Analyst

     

    + A Master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and one (1) year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management or in a related area; or

    + A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three (3) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the areas described in 1 above.

     

    Staff Analyst I & Staff Analyst II

     

    + A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in economics, finance, accounting,

     

    business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, or urban studies, or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; or

     

    + A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory fulltime professional experience in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area; or

    + An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university and four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above: or

    + A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above; or

    + A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", "3", or "4" above. College

     

    education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school diploma.

    Special Note:

    To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, one additional year of professional experience as described in "2" above.
