The Siemens Energy (SE) Customs team supports SE businesses
in all customs related matters, ensuring full compliance with applicable
customs regulations and internal requirements in an optimal and efficient
manner. The SE U.S. Customs Operations Specialist will facilitate transactional
support for U.S. imports and exports!
This role reports to Head of Customs Operations and will be
based in Orlando, FL, Charlotte, NC, Houston, TX!
How You’ll Make an Impact
+ Managementof day-to-day import and export activity (e.g., review of customsdocuments, broker instructions). Analyze and aggregate the causes ofcustoms clearance issues and delays to drive improvement actions with ourpartners and staff.
+ Workwith U.S. custom brokers, and internal and external customers on allmatters pertaining to customs and import and export activities. Supportwith cross-functional projects related to trade transactions andimplementation of regulatory customs requirements for all SE U.S.businesses and its affiliates.
+ Developstrong partnerships with SE U.S. business areas, communicating withfunctions across the organization regarding all transactional operationalimport and export activities. Drive financial optimization throughcompliant use of special U.S. customs programs such as Temporary ImportBonds (TIB), Chapter 98 and Carnets.
+ Prepareand submit clearance instructions to customs brokers while ensuring fullcompliance with U.S. import and internal requirements.
+ Workwith various importing requirements such as FDA, EPA, AD/CVD, Section201,301,232, quotas and Free Trade Agreements.
+ Ensurefull compliance for export transactions, including the review of exportdocumentation, filing of Electronic Export Information and recordretention.
What You Bring
+ 2+years of extensive experience in customs/international trade compliance.Bachelor’s or Associate Degree or High School Diploma and relevant yearsof experience. U.S. Customs Broker License is a plus.
+ GlobalTrade Management technology/ERP experience such as: SAP (GTS or GTM) orother global trade software.
+ Excellentknowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, U.S. Tariff Classification, GeneralRules of Interpretation and customs brokerage activities.
+ Projectskills; including analytics, implementation strategies, metric measurementand continuous monitoring expectations and results.
+ Abilityto work independently. Strong written and verbal communication /interpersonal skills. Presentation skills.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations,
candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e.,
current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or
granted asylum.
