Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Nursing. New York State Registered Professional Nurse. Five (5) years of full-time clinical nursing experience which includes administrative and supervisory experience in a healthcare setting. Experience with EMR.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Six (6) or more years of full-time clinical nursing experience which includes administrative and supervisory experience in a healthcare setting. Experience working in a leadership role for a multi-professional integrative medical office, or hospital setting. Experience conducting quality assurance audits and leading change. Experience implementing and tracking safety standards. Experience with utilizing data to track performance. Experience with the administration of research or federally sponsored programs.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Nurse Manager will be charged with ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the two WTC HP clinics meet Program requirements and Stony Brook regulations. They will work under the Director and Deputy Admin Director. The Nurse Manager will ensure good communication and that policies and procedures are well-implemented. The Manager will provide direction and supervision to clinic staff at the main clinic in Commack and a satellite clinic in Westbury. They will lead the clinical teams (made of providers, nurses, social workers, dietitians, pharmacists, and others). They will supervise nurses (RNs and LPNs) and medical assistants to ensure consistency of practice and staff coverage. They will be responsible for reporting on and addressing quality and risk issues. They will conduct weekly audits of clinic operations to assess efficiency and effectiveness on meeting performance and quality objectives.
Duties:
+ Manage and oversee daily operations at the main and satellite clinics. Supervise clinical staff (RNs, LPNs, CMAs): ensure proper training and competencies, performance plans and assessments, discipline and time and attendance for staff.
+ Ensure good patient flow through positive communication and coordination with Member Services and Clinical teams by implementing a system that ensures that members complete the components of the monitoring visit in a specified time period.
+ Organize and implement a staffing schedule effectively and fairly to ensure staffing to meet the organization’s member scheduling requirements and working with the Nursing Supervisor to ensure coverage when needed.
+ Perform nursing tasks associated with the WTC HP clinic, including coordinating referrals, educating members on clinical issues, reviewing and triaging lab results, and triaging treatment visit requests. Performing all aspects of the monitoring visit: research consenting, phlebotomy, spirometry, health monitoring questionnaires, EMR documentation, MoCA and other assessments.
+ Ensure adequate inventory of all clinic supplies, ordering and receiving deliveries. Work with leads to coordinate storage of items. Ensure centrifuges and other equipment are properly calibrated. Ensure adequate storage for vaccines and blood samples.
+ Ensure Quality Assurance in the Clinical areas: write procedures, measure outcomes, provide reports, implement and assess improvements. Provide training and feedback to staff to ensure compliance. Play a primary leadership role on the administrative team and quality assurance committee to ensure collaborative solutions to administrative and clinical operation and quality problems. Participate in quality assurance projects, audits, chart reviews and other data collection projects. Spearhead and coordinate clinical improvement projects under the direction of the Medical Director and Deputy Administrative Director in order to meet Program QA goals.
+ Write monthly reports and lead clinical team meetings.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
The incumbent must be willing to work and travel between the Westbury and Commack clinic locations. Occasional Evenings and Saturdays will be required.
