SUMMARY:

As an IntraAcortic Pump Tech, you will be responsible for providing patient care of a technical nature as a member of the Cardiac Procedural Team. This is a unique position that works specifically within the cardiac surgery team in an advanced technician role. You will perform set up and operation of the intra-aortic balloon pump and assist the Cardiac Team in the daily functioning of the cardiology procedure rooms. Our technicians are cooperative, courteous, and helpful to all members of the hospital team and OR staff as well as patients and family members.

RGH Operating Room (OR):

The Operating Room (OR) at Rochester General Hospital offers elective and emergency surgeries for adults and pediatric patients, including a variety of service-specific specialties. Types of Surgical procedures and teams performed include: General Surgery, Urology, Bariatric, Ambulatory, Robotic Surgery, Gynecological, Neurology, Vascular, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Plastic Reconstructive, Cosmetic Surgery, Oral Surgery, Podiatric Surgery, and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Provides technical care as an intraoperative team member in accordance with hospital policy/procedures and with departmental, area, and national standards.

+ Performs operational assistance and set up of intra balloon pump on critical patients as needed.

+ Provides an on-call service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

+ Ensures a safe, supportive environment for staff, medical staff, patients, residents, and students.

+ Provides rapid turnover.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ 1-3 years of previous patient care technician experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ High school graduate or graduate of an approved school for cardiovascular technology.

+ Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
