    Title: Lab Technician

     

    Type: 6 Month Contract to hire

     

    Schedule: Monday - Friday 7AM-3:30PM

     

    Pay Rate: $22/hour

    Overview:

    Specialty Chemical Company is seeking a Lab Tech to join their team in support of material development and testing. Our client is open to recent graduates looking to gain industry experience!

    Responsibilities:

    + Perform catalytic testing and characterization of zeolites and other materials, such as temperature programmed techniques (adsorption, desorption and reduction), selective catalytic reduction, and other catalytic reactions for sustainability applications.

    + Monitor chemical processes and characterize materials

    + Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment

    + Troubleshoot problems and malfunctioning instruments

    + Prepare chemical solutions

    + Conduct, compile, and interpret results of chemical and physical experiments

    + Record data and observations in laboratory notebook and laboratory information system

    + Contribute to the overall site safety through established safety procedures, programs, and policies

    + Must be able to manage time effectively within a changing environment

    + Determines acceptability of results and proposes relevant conclusions on all work

    + Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

    Requirements:

    + Associate's Degree in Chemistry or related field

    + Knowledge in general laboratory (chemical preferred) practice required

    + Ability to follow written procedures and improve upon existing procedures required

    + Ability to conduct experiments with high accuracy and attention to detail required

    + Ability to use Excel and Word

    + Ability to operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods (SOPs/JSAs)

    + Ability to conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety, quality, and environmental compliance
