We are pursuing qualified candidates to fill Senior Analyst, CEO positions within the Chief Executive Office. The position assists the Chief Executive Office to manage the County’s administrative and financial affairs.

Essential Job Functions
Position Responsibilities
+ Independently or at the direction of management, conducts analyses of policy and fiscal impact of programs and services, Board motions, legislative changes, labor relations, matters affecting the County’s labor partners, or various other matters.
+ Conducts program and organizational reviews and/or management audits independently or as directed by the CEO and the Board of Supervisors.
+ Analyzes budget requests for larger County departments.
+ Leads a team in large scale surveys or studies, coordinating research, analytical and report writing tasks among team members within approved study plans.
+ Prepares and presents project progress and reports completed analyses or own recommendations, correspondence, surveys, or draft amendments to County Code and Memoranda of Understandings.
+ Serves as an expert on complex questions/issues within an assigned area (e.g., Budget and Finance, Classification, Compensation, Employee Relations, Benefits Policy, Homelessness, Information Technology, Asset Management, Legislative Affairs).
+ Acts as a representative of the CEO.
Requirements
Requirements to Qualify
Five (5) years of professional staff experience * in analyzing and recommending solutions to problems in areas such as budget, finance, operations, capital projects, legislative policy, organization and management, employee relations, classification, compensation, communications, benefits policy, risk management, marketing, or asset management.Two (2) years of the required experience must have been at the level of Los Angeles County, Analyst, CEO** or higher.
No withhold will be allowed for this examination. Required experience must be fully met by the last day of filing and clearly indicated on the application.
Out-of-Class work experience will not be accepted for this examination.
License
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to use an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Physical Class II
Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
Special Requirement Information
* In the County of Los Angeles,professional staff experienceis defined as experience gained at the level of Los Angeles County classification of Administrative Assistant II or higher, which functions as an administrative generalist in the central administrative staff organization of a department analyzing and making recommendations for the solution of a variety of operation problems having significant consequences in terms of cost, efficiency or public service.
** In the County of Los Angeles, experienceat the level of Analyst, CEOis gained working in a central agency or corporate headquarter, providing professional staff support to the head of an organization in the planning, coordination, direction and control of specialized functions such as budget, finance, operations, capital projects, legislative analysis, organization and management studies, employee relations, classification, compensation, benefits policy, risk management, marketing, and asset management under general supervision.

Only those candidates that achieve a passing score of 70% or higher in Part I – multiple choice and/or simulation assessment(s) will advance to Part II – writing assessment.
Part II:A writing assessment, weighted25%, covering English Structure and Content, Written Expression, and Prioritizing Information.
Applicants must meet the requirements and achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on each weighted part of the examination in order to be placed on the eligible register.
Exam Review
Some exam components are not subject to review by candidates. Multiple-choice and/or simulation assessments are not reviewable by candidates per CSR 7.19.
Transfer of Test Components
If you have taken identical components recently for other exams, your responses may be automatically transferred to this examination. This exam contains test components that might be used on future exams, and your responses could be transferred to that exam.

Eligibility and Vacancy Information
Candidates who met the exam requirements and passed the assessments are placed on an eligible register in the order of their score group for a period of six (6) months. We will use this list to fill vacancies within the Chief Executive Office as they occur.
Selection Certification
From those who pass the assessment, we may establish a secondary list to identify candidates with specific qualifications. We seek experience in areas such as asset management, budget and finance, classification and compensation, communications, contracts, human resources, and risk management. To be considered, please complete the supplemental questionnaire carefully and accurately, detailing your related experience rather than referencing your resume or application.
