    We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our Electro Optical Infrared System (EOIS) Software Development Team. The successful candidate will lead technical activities, ensuring their timely and budget-conscious completion. You will develop embedded software and PC tools, while determining hardware compatibility and documenting procedures for installation and maintenance. You will interact with users to define system requirements and modifications, providing technical leadership on projects.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead and complete technical activities on time and within budget.

    + Develop embedded software and PC tools, including operating systems, networks, and Internet-related tools.

    + Determine hardware compatibility and complete necessary documentation for installation and maintenance.

    + Interact with users to define system requirements and modifications.

    + Design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems.

    + Review customer specifications and requirements, developing designs to support them with cost considerations.

    + Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments.

    + Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.

    + Communicate clearly with company personnel and customers.

    + Lead a group of engineers on technical activities, providing direction and support.

    + Participate in the preparation of proposals and provide technical knowledge to other engineers.

    + Attend relevant engineering, customer, or business meetings.

    + Mentor less-experienced engineers.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum 5 years of software development experience.

    + At least 3 years of real-time embedded software experience.

    + Strong development experience in C or C++ (3+ years).

    + Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), Linux, and bare-metal implementation for embedded systems.

    + Proficiency with embedded device drivers (TCP/IP, UART, I2C, PCIe) on Linux.

    + Solid understanding of multi-threading/multi-processing concepts and implementations.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in initial hardware start-up and troubleshooting.

    + Familiarity with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

    + Strong analytical and communication skills.

    + Experience with modern software development processes, including software configuration management, defect tracking, peer review, and agile development life cycles.

    + C# knowledge is a plus.

    + ADA experience is helpful for porting to C.

    Work Environment

    The work environment offers a 9/80 schedule with hybrid flexibility after the initial 3-4 months of full-time onsite work. The team fosters a collaborative and interactive culture, with frequent lab interactions and social engagements. The project involves working on cutting-edge precision technology for combat vehicles, providing a challenging and dynamic setting.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $80.00/hr.
