Job Title: Civil Designer
Job Description
The Civil Designer utilizes AutoDesk Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other Civil Engineering-related software programs to create technically accurate and high-quality deliverables. The role involves aiding in the development of stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and construction plans under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. It requires the ability to analyze design alternatives to develop cost-effective solutions to project challenges. The Civil Designer coordinates the preparation of advanced multi-discipline drawing sets, ensuring collaboration with technical, administrative, and design staff. Promoting, utilizing, and supporting quality assurance and quality control processes is essential to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors and omissions. The role involves researching, reviewing, interpreting, and understanding design standards, regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements, applying them to design projects. It also includes assisting with design calculations, calculating quantities, reviewing technical specifications, and preparing cost estimates, while aiding in enhancing the team's overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
+ Use AutoDesk Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other software for developing high-quality deliverables.
+ Aid in stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and construction plans development.
+ Analyze design alternatives to create cost-effective solutions.
+ Coordinate preparation of advanced multi-discipline drawing sets.
+ Promote and support quality assurance and quality control processes.
+ Research and apply design standards, regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements.
+ Assist with design calculations and prepare cost estimates.
+ Enhance team's efficiency and effectiveness.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 5 years of Civil Engineering experience in Land Development.
+ Proficiency in Civil 3D (rated 7/10).
+ Experience in commercial or residential projects, particularly plan writing.
+ Minimum 2 years of project grading experience.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience working on projects in Arizona.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
+ Ideally, 60% of past projects in the commercial space (apartments, storage facilities, schools, etc).
+ Experience in hydrology and drainage.
+ Mentoring skills.
Work Environment
The work schedule includes in-person office hours from Monday to Thursday, with remote work on Fridays. Employees benefit from a comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision, life, STD, LTD, HSA, and FSA, starting from the first of the month following the hire date. Eligibility for 401K begins after 30 days, with a 50% match up to 6% of salary. ESOP eligibility starts after one year and 1000 hours of service. PTO is accrued monthly, with full-time employees able to carry over up to 120 hours. Nine paid holidays are provided annually, with alternatives arranged for religious observations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
