Job Title: Warehouse Specialist
Job Description
The Warehouse Operator is responsible for handling, moving, and processing materials within the warehouse. This role involves reading work orders or following oral instructions to determine the materials or containers to be moved and using knowledge of the warehouse location system to determine the proper location for items.
Responsibilities
+ Ascertain materials or containers to be moved based on work orders or oral instructions.
+ Determine proper location for items being processed using the warehouse location system.
+ Open containers, perform required warehouse functions, close containers, and complete transactions in automated accountability systems such as AWS, SBSS, DO35, and EPS.
+ Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and shelves manually or using Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
+ Secure materials for transport to prevent shifting or damage.
+ Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
+ Secure lifting attachments and guide loads to their destinations.
+ Count, weigh, and record units of materials moved or handled daily.
+ Attach identifying tags or labels to materials.
+ Load trucks for Industrial Truck Operators.
+ Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them together.
+ Daily cleaning of work areas, machines, and equipment.
+ Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Essential Skills
+ Must have 2-3 years of recent forklift operation experience.
+ Must have 2-3 years of recent warehouse operations experience.
+ Recent or current HAZWOPER certification a plus.
+ Experience with heavy duty forklift operation
+ Experience with Rigging a plus.
+ Proficient with ERP Systems, computer skills, and data entry.
+ Proficiency in using automated equipment such as computer terminals, bar code wands, and laser scanning equipment.
+ Skill in inventory management and material handling.
+ Experience with RF scanners and warehouse inventory systems.
Work Environment
This role involves working both indoors and outdoors. Operators may handle various types of MHE such as Four Directional, Swing Mast Lift, Side Loaders, Drexel, Hyster forklifts (up to 15,000 lift capacity), Hubtek, Gantry Crane, stock pickers, and similar equipment.
Shift Schedule
Typical start time 7:30AM - 5:00PM M-F. Must have open to overtime and available on-call during the week and weekends (Saturday / Sunday)
Compensation
Starting Pay: $23.00. Higher pay offered to candidates with current HAZWOPER, Rigging, and Heavy Duty Forklift certifications.
Job Type & Location
This is a 3 Month Contract to Hire position based out of Port Hueneme, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
