Job Title: Coating Operator

Job Description

As a Coating Operator, you will play a crucial role in the electrode manufacturing process, creating high-quality anode and cathode electrodes. Your expertise will be vital in handling the electrode coating processes, including machine start-up, loading the machine with coating mixture, troubleshooting process issues, conducting in-process quality checks, ensuring finished product quality, and maintaining documentation. You will eventually become the subject matter expert in the roll-to-roll process of slot die coating.

Responsibilities

+ Understand process capabilities through design of experiment and data analysis.

+ Develop and optimize process conditions for new materials, recipes, and designs.

+ Lead new process development from validation at pilot scales to scale-up in mass production.

+ Drive a multi-functional team to solve technically complex problems using first principles and data-driven methodologies.

Essential Skills

+ Machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Experience troubleshooting automated machines.

+ Responsibility for in-process and finished product quality in manufacturing.

+ Ability to stand on feet all day.

+ Steel-toed shoes.

+ Ability to lift 50lbs and bend, squat, lift as needed in a general manufacturing sense.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience operating mechanical slitter, calender, coater, or punching equipment.

Work Environment

Work in a very clean environment tailored for battery manufacturing requirements. The coating area may be dirtier due to the coating material, but overall, it remains clean. The facility is temperature controlled, with warmer areas reaching around 75 degrees during summer. Work hours are 1st shift, Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
