Job Title: Facilities Technician
Job Description
As a Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and performing general repairs on refrigeration units, plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, elevators, ventilation systems, and building structures. Your role will include preventive maintenance of refrigeration, HVAC, electric, plumbing, roofing, elevators, and all buildings. You will also install tile and drywall, make grouting repairs, patch walls, paint, and manage inventory of maintenance supplies. Working closely with contractors and vendors as needed, you will put gauges on equipment and controls, and repair laundry, storage, and kitchen equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Perform general repairs on refrigeration units, plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, elevators, ventilation systems, and building structures.
+ Conduct preventive maintenance on refrigeration, HVAC, electric, plumbing, roofing, elevators, and all buildings.
+ Install tile and drywall and make grouting repairs.
+ Patch walls and paint.
+ Manage inventory of maintenance supplies.
+ Collaborate with contractors and vendors when necessary.
+ Inspect and adjust gauges on equipment and controls.
+ Repair laundry, storage, and kitchen equipment.
Essential Skills
+ 2-3 years of HVAC repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience.
+ 5+ years of Building and Facilities Maintenance experience.
+ Ability to diagnose minor HVAC problems and implement repairs.
+ Proficiency in installing thermostats and setting programming.
+ Experience in roof top unit repair and maintenance.
+ Customer service/hospitality focus.
+ Knowledge in boiler maintenance, building automation systems, and electrical maintenance.
+ EPA Universal Certification is highly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ HVAC certification.
+ Ability to read and understand blueprint schematics.
+ Experience with carpentry and painting.
+ Progressive experience as a Facilities Engineer or Maintenance Professional.
+ Ability to work autonomously within a small team.

Work Environment
The work schedule is Tuesday to Saturday from 11:30am to 8pm. Uniforms are provided, and you will be part of a team consisting of a Facilities Director, Maintenance Lead, and one tech. You will need to work autonomously and stay busy, as there is always something to do. Customer service is important, and presenting yourself well is essential. You may occasionally drive a utility cart, and the paddle court has 25 gas heaters underneath that keep it heated year-round.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
