Job Title: Gluer/Folder Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Gluer/Folder Machine Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for operating machinery to bind books and other printed materials, ensuring high-quality production standards are met.

Responsibilities

+ Review work orders to determine instructions and specifications for bindery work.

+ Examine stitched, collated, bound, or unbound product samples for defects such as imperfect bindings, ink spots, torn pages, loose pages, or uncut threads.

+ Perform hand bindery of products including kitting and collating.

+ Trim edges to size using cutting machines, trimming machines, or hand cutters.

+ Stitch or glue endpapers, bindings, backings, or signatures using sewing machines, glue machines, or glue and brushes.

+ Inspect products and decide to accept or reject them to maintain the quality level.

Essential Skills

+ Mechanically inclined.

+ Experience in printing press and machine operation.

+ Knowledge of bindery and hand bindery processes.

+ Ability to troubleshoot and set up machines.

+ 1+ years of experience in printing or bindery work.

+ Proficient in reading and writing English.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with flexography.

Work Environment

Work in a fast-paced printing environment that is equipped with heating and air conditioning, though temperatures may fluctuate when dock doors are open. The environment is loud, but the facility is well-lit and clean.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $45760.00/yr.
