    Job Title: Saw Operator

    Job Description

    Join our team as a Saw Operator, where you will work in a dynamic, non-climate controlled environment specializing in cutting aviation and marine grade metals to precise order specifications. Utilize band saws and metal saws to ensure materials are accurately cut and processed.

    Responsibilities

    + Expertly operate one or more saws in the service center.

    + Process orders to customer cut-to-size specifications, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

    + Pull, stage, and retrieve materials using a forklift.

    + Measure materials precisely and enter data into the computer.

    + Safely operate cranes, forklifts, and apply safe rigging techniques.

    + Assist in packaging, receiving shipments, and conducting weekly inventory cycle counts.

    + Utilize precision tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers, and calipers.

    + Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the day.

    + Adhere to safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.

    + Follow company policies and procedures.

    Essential Skills

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Two or more years of experience or training with saws and/or machinery.

    + One or more years in the metals service center industry.

    + Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    + Strong written and oral communication skills.

    + Good organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

    + Ability to measure using different tools and read and calculate numbers.

    + Ability to work independently and accept direction.

    + Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.

    + Strong work ethic and self-motivation.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + One or more years of experience in the metals service center industry.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a comfortable, non-climate controlled warehouse with heaters for winter and large fans for summer. Shift hours are from 2pm to 10:30pm for the second shift and 10pm to 6:30am for the third shift. The role involves physical demands such as standing, handling materials, and lifting weights up to 75 pounds occasionally.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $45760.00/yr.
