About this Job
The Accountant 1 position has a Special Entrance Rate of $44,990.40 /annually
The Accountant 2 position has a Special Entrance Rate of $48,131.20 /annually
The Accountant 3 position has a Special Entrance Rate of $55,120.00 /annually
LASERS requires all new hires to serve a minimum of eighteen (18) months not to exceed twenty-four (24) months in probational status including permanent state employees.
As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as an Accountant 1, Accountant 2, or Accountant 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant. The maximum salary for the Accountant 3 is $96,533.00 . Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

Job Duties and Other Information
• Daily deposits of agency contributions, benefit accounts receivable, ORP, members payments
and miscellaneous cash receipts.
• Communicates with members, agencies, and financial institutions regarding receivables, cash
receipts, and collection items.
• Collecting underpaid agency contributions and interest on the late reporting and payment of
agency contributions.
• Prepares monthly reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts.
• Processes member refund applications for their accumulated retirement contributions according
to regulations and internal procedures.
• Applies daily cash receipts to applicable invoices in the retirement information system and/or
financial accounting system.
