    Compass Point, an Akima company, is seeking a Program Manager who is responsible for overseeing selected Law Enforcement client engagements and assisting in building relationships and additional business opportunities in the Federal Law Enforcement marketplace.

     

    The ideal candidate is a solution-oriented, business-savvy individual with significant experience supporting Department of Justice (DOJ) and acts in a hybrid role between Operations & Growth, responsible for direct client contract value retention, as well as growth through contract expansion and the introduction

     

    of new services.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include overseeing operations of selected current client projects to include: The Program Manager will serve as a leader and key contributor for proposal development, contract negotiation, contract compliance, and business development initiatives. The Program Manager ensures master plans and schedules are followed, develops innovative solutions to address project challenges, and directs others for successful completion of projects on schedule, on budget, and compliant with corporate/contractual quality standards.

     

    + Serve as the decision-maker and leader for recruitment, selection, hiring, onboarding, assignment, and maintenance of employees.

    + Manage all phases of the project life cycle (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing) for programs and projects in support of multiple US government agency missions.

    + Consult with executives to develop and implement effective strategies that improves the value delivered by Akima’s offering.

    + Build relationships with key executives to generate and develop ideas, pursue, & close opportunities. Identify and influence key decision-makers at all levels within the client organization at multiple levels of client organizational hierarchy.

    + Provide growth teams with deep knowledge of the client’s engagement history, culture, organizational structure, competitive landscape and differentiators from the client’s perspective

    + Drive targeted organic and adjacent growth efforts across the breadth of a client's business units and functions, toward an outcome of increased customer satisfaction and an increase in retention and account growth. Assist the growth team with qualifying, pursuing and closing opportunities.

    + Manage employee timekeeping processes (timesheet review, approval, project code allocations, labor corrections, and data entry).

    + Coordinate resolutions for payroll issues (labor corrections, coordination with payroll, manage employee complaints).

    + Maintain communications with employee teams and AKIMA HQ.

    + Provide direction and guidance to site leads and contract personnel.

    + Coordinate appropriate processing for intermittent (COR approved) travel.

    + Approve authorized travel requests.

    + Approve authorized expense reports.

    + Manage office operations leading support efforts for HR, IT, and project controls/accounting/finance.

    + Complete special projects/data calls from corporate management and the Contracting Officer.

    + Coordinate funding requests with corporate contracts manager or appropriate corporate staff.

    + Review and approve preliminary and final invoices ensuring costs are FAR compliant and within contract specifications.

    + Enforce corporate policy for ensuring supporting documentation is maintained for all contract charge.

    + Review and approve subcontractor quotes for technical compliance and price acceptability.

    + Support corporate management with providing pricing information for proposals.

    + Support corporate management with reviewing price proposals.

    Qualifications

    + Must have a TOP SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI Clearance.

    + Minimum 10 years' experience as a Program Manager.

    + Must be able to travel to conduct site visits.

    + Bachelor’s Degree Required.

    + 10 years of Federal law enforcement experience mandatory.

    + Periodic travel to observe/supervise the startup and maintenance of contract operations.

    + Extensive software skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) and Internet research abilities.

    + Strong oral and written communication skills.

    + Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
