    THE POSITION

Join our survey team as a Survey Technician, where you will utilize both manual and electronic equipment to gather surveying data for various engineering projects, including preliminary, construction, and final surveys.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    In this role, you will carry out technical tasks essential for accurately determining the locations of points and areas in accordance with the engineering requirements set forth by various units within the district. You will be tasked with operating and maintaining both advanced and standard surveying equipment, including but not limited to electronic total stations, automatic and digital levels, data collectors, laptops, GPS devices, and other necessary tools for collecting, recording, and processing survey data.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890 (before taxes).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year of experience as an Engineering Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or

    + Three years of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments ;or

    + One year of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments, and an associate's degree in surveying, drafting, design, civil or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.

    Condition of Employment:

    + This position will require possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
