Description of Work Unit
Financial Services
At the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital ( VTH ) we exist to educate the next generation of veterinarians by providing exceptional veterinary care and service to the community every day. This work unit exists to provide administration and direction of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and provide a support facility for service to the general public and referring veterinarians.

Position Summary
This position plays a key role in maintaining a professional and service-oriented environment for the accurate collection of fees for veterinary services and products. It is directly responsible for all aspects of calculating, quoting, charging, billing, and collecting accounts receivable, while ensuring strict adherence to financial policies and procedures. In addition to daily financial operations, the position supports the education of professional veterinary medicine students and new clinicians by helping them understand the financial responsibilities involved in running a veterinary hospital. A strong emphasis is placed on delivering excellent customer service, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving. This role also serves as a frontline representative of the hospital, requiring professionalism, empathy, and the ability to navigate complex financial interactions with clients effectively and respectfully. The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Required Job Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED
+ At least two (2) years of general clerical experience
+ Demonstrated experience in customer service, including handling client inquiries and resolving concerns
+ At lease one (1) year of experience with cash handling and point-of-sale systems
+ Familiarity with account collections and financial follow-up procedures
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the department will not sponsor a visa for this position.
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ College or university course work within large animal science, veterinary science, or directly related field of study may substitute for the experience requirement on a year for year basis.
+ Excellent customer service and communication skills.

+ Research accounts, financial reports and medical records to answer client questions to resolve billing disputes when necessary.
