Provides professional strategic leadership and operational oversight that ensures the effective delivery of business services, system support, and financial administration for Central Processing operational unit. The Central Processing team is responsible for supporting staff and customers who utilize software systems for park-related business transactions, providing information, processing reservations and registrations, processing payments, reconciling accounts, completing financial transactions and ensuring excellent customer service. This role champions operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement by supervising staff, optimizing workflows, and supporting informed decision-making through data analysis and collaboration across departments and community partners. Manages data integrity and adherence to Sarasota County policies, procedures, and general best practices. Demonstrates superior analytical, work management, supervisory and customer service skills and possesses a passion for providing exceptional services to the community.
About the Position
In this role, you will...
+ Plan, organize, assign, supervise, review and evaluate the work of assigned staff within work unit. Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of department services ensuring excellence in service delivery.
+ Ensure the delivery of correct and complete information. Provide excellent customer service and resolve escalated customer issues or complaints. Collaborate to resolve complex or sensitive customer cases effectively. Gather relevant information and offer appropriate solutions.
+ Maintain effective relations with a variety of community organizations, groups, and the public.
+ Provide supervisory oversight and leadership for the scheduling and permitted use of all Central Processing managed facilities. Ensure accurate data entry into scheduling software systems and adherence to established procedures and county policies for fee administration and payment processing.
+ Collaborate with multiple divisions to facilitate permitted use of all facilities and registration for programs, special events and activities within span of control.
+ Oversee [email protected] inbox – Maintain detailed, organized and accurate records of all email communications.
+ Develop, implement and maintain training materials and resources for Central Processing. Establish and enforce standards, guidelines and processes.
+ Provide general oversight of assigned office space, currently Pompano Trailhead Community Center. Ensure clean, safe environment by collaborating with County staff as necessary.
+ Manage cash collection processes for the Central Processing work unit ensuring compliance to established procedures. Process daily credit card deposit reconciliation and check/cash deposits for more than $3M+ in annual financial transactions for the PRNR Department.
+ Managing the refund process for all PRNR reservations and registrations, ensuring compliance with policies as established by the Clerk’s Office.
+ Analyze processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop strategies for improvement. Streamline workflows and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
+ Prepare and analyze benchmarking data relevant to operations, financial practices and business practices. Develop various financial, administrative, and statistical reports supporting business operations, process improvements and informed decision-making.
+ Stay abreast of latest trends, technologies, and best practices. Attend training sessions and actively seek opportunities for professional development.
+ Comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.

Work Hours:
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Parks and Recreation, Industrial/Engineering Technology, or a job-related field.
+ Two (2) years of job-related experience.
+ -OR- Six (6) years of professional job-related experience can be substituted for the required education.
+ -OR- Related professional program/project management may substitute for the required education.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Previous parks and recreation system administration experience
+ Previous supervisor/management experience
+ Certified or ability to obtain certification as a “Certified Parks and Recreation Professional” through the National Parks and Recreation Association
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $56,139.00
