    Responsibilities

    While no two days are exactly the same, here are some things you will be responsible for:

    + Performing personal care tasks, including feeding, ambulation, and medical monitoring

    + Assist with fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates

    + Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment

    + Encouraging self-help activities

    + Accompanying clients to scheduled appointments

    Qualifications

    + Must be 18 years of age or older

    + Must have a valid driver’s license

    + Ability to work in a group home, home-like setting

    + Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external

    Additional Job Information

     

    Work with a diverse population of people with mental health and/or physical disabilities, living in the community in their own apartments, assisted living programs, or their own homes.

     

    + Majority of work hours are in the community working face-to-face with clients

    + Provide training, education and support in all daily living skill areas.

    + Services are designed to help clients maintain or increase their independence

    + Locations include Ramsey County, and a few in Hennepin, Dakota, and Washington Counties

    Requirements

    + 18 years of age

    + Minimum 1 year experience, preferably MI experience

    + Valid Driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current vehicle insurance with good driving record.

    + Able to lift 50 lbs.

    + Establish and maintain professional boundaries

    + Good communication skills

    + Able to be accountable for your time, report your schedule to your supervisor daily, and immediately report any changes

    + Able to work in challenging environments, i.e. person served apartments, with smokers, pets, hoarders, and unclean apartments; also with persons served that may have hygiene issues.

    + Proficiency with computer skills including email and Microsoft Office

     

    Salary Range

     

    USD $18.00 - $18.60 / Hour
