BAE Systems is looking for an subject matter expert (SME) Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join a strong team supporting our government customer. This position will provide the ability to make a significant impact to the mission.
The subject matter expert (SME) Information System Security Officer (ISSO):
+ Serves as the principal advisor to the Information System Owner (SO), Business Process Owner, and the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) / Information System Security Manager (ISSM) on all matters, technical and otherwise, involving the security of an information system.
+ ISSOs are responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of security controls.
+ Directs and implements the necessary controls and procedures to cost-effectively protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction.
+ Provides guidance and direction for the physical protection of information systems assets to other functional units.
+ Provides reports to superiors regarding effectiveness of data security and makes recommendations for the adoption of new procedures.
+ Assists with reviewing, developing, and navigating the system, team, and customer through the Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditation/certification documentation process.
+ Performs network self-inspections.
+ Creates new and edit existing documentation that forms the Authority to Operate (ATO) package to include the System Security Plan and IS contingency plan.
+ Develops Plan of Action and Milestone (POAMs) from vulnerability data and enter into the system of record.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
+ Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives.
+ A Subject Matter Expert is an individual whose qualifications and/or expertise are exceptional and/or highly unique.
+ Has domain and expert technical knowledge.
+ Performs the following kinds of functions: Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs; Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues; Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
+ Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.
+ May supervise others.
+ Minimum of 10 years experience recommended. In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $133333 - $226667
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
