UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Full-Time Payment Application Specialist II to support the office in a hybrid role.

Purpose:

Responsible for the posting and balancing of payment and adjustment transactions including electronic processes. Responsible for posting denials, patient and insurance refunds.

Responsibilities:

+ Adhere to Human Resource policies and procedures.

+ Responsible for entering self-pay, insurance, and manual exception payments into the Epic billing system.

+ Perform batch audits.

+ Review manually posted payments and adjustments for accuracy.

+ Responsible for entering payments/non-payment denials into the Epic billing system.

+ Responsible for meeting departmental goals on a daily basis.

+ Process third-party reimbursements with guidelines set forth in the department. Initiate the refund process to ensure timely return of misdirected revenue.

+ Provide back up support for other staff members who perform various departmental functions.

+ Process reimbursements to multiple billing systems and automated systems as required.

+ 3 years' experience in a physician office or hospital business unit preferred.

+ Must have experience in business functions such as registration, billing, payment posting and collections.

+ Must have experience with medical terminology and reimbursement practices.

+ Microsoft Word and Excel (or an equivalent package) and various office equipment.

+ Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communications skills.

+ Must be able to work independently and as a team member.

+ Must be able to meet departmental quotas on an ongoing basis.

+ High school diploma or GED with three years' experience is required.

+ Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business field is preferred. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
