About the Role
KTXL FOX40, a Nexstar Media station, is hiring a Sales Assistant to support our local, national, and digital advertising teams. This is an on-site position for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is committed to exceptional service and execution.As a Sales Assistant, you will serve as the operational backbone of our sales department—entering orders, coordinating assets, resolving issues, and providing reporting support. You will work across departments to ensure client campaigns run smoothly and that sales teams have the tools and data they need to succeed.This role also offers exposure to multiple sides of the business, with a path for advancement for candidates interested in media sales careers.
Key Responsibilities
+ Accurately enter, revise, and manage broadcast and digital sales orders in Wide Orbit Traffic and Wide Orbit Media Sales.
+ Support Account Executives by collecting campaign assets, traffic instructions, copy changes, and client approvals.
+ Troubleshoot campaign issues, track preempts/makegoods, and process adjustments or credits as needed.
+ Maintain clean and organized records of logs, order revisions, invoices, discrepancies, and pre/post logs.
+ Prepare client performance reports, recap decks, and sales presentations using Excel and PowerPoint.
+ Assist with political order tracking, FCC public file updates, and account receivables follow-up.
+ Participate in grassroots marketing initiatives, events, and community partnerships.
+ Serve as backup support for the traffic desk or other assistants during PTO or overflow periods.
+ Stay current on Nexstar policies, digital trends, traffic/copy rules, and compliance requirements.
Requirements & Skills
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
+ Minimum 1 year experience in sales support, media administration, or order fulfillment preferred.
+ Proficiency in Wide Orbit Traffic and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required; familiarity with CRM systems is a plus.
+ Strong organizational and time-management skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Clear, professional communication skills—written and verbal.
+ Ability to multi-task, follow through on deadlines, and work collaboratively with multiple departments.
+ Strong customer service orientation and positive, team-first attitude.
+ Interest in long-term career development within the media industry.
Work Location
This is a fully on-site position based at:KTXL FOX404655 Fruitridge RoadSacramento, CA 95820Office presence is required. Participation in off-site client meetings or promotional events may occur occasionally. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. may be needed.
