    The Senior Director will bring his/her clinical and biomarker expertise to enhance the interactions and alignment between the translational teams and their early and late clinical counterparts for all the Disease Area Strongholds (Multiple Myeloma, Lymphoma/Leukemia, Lung, Prostate and Bladder). Absolute requirements include recognized leadership in the field of oncology drug development, a thorough understanding of specific challenges in early and late drug development, and expertise in translational research and biomarkers. After becoming familiar with the Biomarker Plans for all the portfolio programs and their clinical needs, the Senior Director should run and provide strategic and tactical insights to the Oncology Translational Research Review Forum (OTRRF). In order to succeed in this position, the Senior Director should gain good understanding about the roles of Study Responsible Physicians (SRPs) for early and late clinical development programs, and the operations, and diagnostics teams. She/He must also possess excellent communication skills in order to communicate in Senior Leadership across the organization. The Senior Director will be an active member and contributor to the Oncology Translational Research Senor Leadership team (OTR SLT).

     

    The Senior Director will also interact with the Medical Affairs Translational Research Liason in order to prioritize together with the OTR SLT members the preclinical IIS studies. The Senior Director will also participate in discussions related to the Translational Research Budget and Project Management support.

     

    **Minimum Education** : Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D

    **Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** :

    + A strong background or familiarity with clinical pharmacology, discovery research, translational or experimental medicine, biomarker applications and cancer biology

    + At least 8 years of applicable biomarker, translational research experience

    + Excels at programmatic and strategic thinking in oncology drug development

    + Possess outstanding communication and leadership skills to maximize effectiveness in a highly matrixed organization

    + Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry research experience is required

    + Clinical biomarker experience is preferred

    + The candidate will have a strong publication record demonstrating relevant experience in clinical trials, translational medicine/research, early drug development, drug discovery and/or biomarkers

     

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is $320,000 - $368,000.
